Halloween @ Phenix

Warning: Do not read the following blog if you don't like seeing adorable kids in costume, or dislike reading the word "cute." My school had its annual Halloween party last weekend, and it was spectacular. The kids really came out in style, and I could not stop smiling. They were simply the cutest things I have ever seen. I don't know if I have mentioned before how much I love my job, but there shouldn't be any doubt after seeing these pictures. I mean, I get to hang out with these guys everyday! I fully expect all of you to buy plane tickets after seeing these pictures, because I know you will want to hang out with them too.

Soki was the first person to arrive, so I spent some time covering him in temporary tattoos. He wasn't scared of my teeth, although I had to take them out for the younger ones.

Hiroi and Mitsuki. Hiroi just kills me as a little bride, and I love how her face squinches up when she smiles. She and Mitsuki are the cutest things ever!

If a ninja and Zorro get in a fight, who will win? Seiichiro and Gentaro:

Jenny says it best. Ayane and Kotomi are simply the two cutest sisters in the universe. Period.

Little Harumune:

Two busy bees, China...

...and Momono. Can you stand it?

Mo and Manaka

Fuka was much happier than she looks, although her grumpy face is still pretty charming.

Yasuyuke as Jack Sparrow. I mean, come on. I don't really need to say anything about this picture. I will say, though, that his head scarf/dreads would not stay on his little head, and for a majority of the party he was running around with his eyes completely obscured. He was literally crashing into the sides of buildings, and he just would. not. stop. (More on that later).

Runa had no idea what was going on in terms of Halloween, but she loved wearing her princess dress..

...while her brother Ayumu was genetically engineered to love everything to do with the holiday.

Mihwa was so freaking cute I couldn't stand it. Alice in Wonderland.

Jhoki had kind of a rough time at the Halloween party. He was sick and a little scared, and he cried a fair bit (okay, a lot). But he brightened up a bit at the end, and I just had to add a picture of him for Jenny! He is still as squishy as ever.

The only thing cuter than one skeleton is two skeletons! Sota and Soki.

Appearances can be deceiving, especially with Reina. Underneath this adorable orange exterior lies pure, unadaltered mischief. She makes boys twice her age cry, and I love her for it.

Hey, even pirates get tired! Looting and pillaging is a lot of work (as is running into buildings).

Mo does not like Halloween too much, she gets scared (Hell, I get scared and I'm not three!) so she had to snuggle up to me at story time. I tried to express my dissatisfaction in this photo, I hate when kids hug me.

The gang getting geared up to color!

So, I think you all remember how much I love little Sota. And you can see from above that is costume was absolutely adorable. BUT, Sota got hot, and his costume involves mittens over his hands, so he wasn't able to color properly. It seemed only logical to him that the costume had to go. I have never seen a kid more comfortable in his undies, and this picture cracks me up, because I can kind of see the person he will become: "Hey baby, whats your sign?"

Once Sota got comfortable, I passed out the gift bags. My Mom sent candy and stickers and stuff for all the kids, and I passed them out at the end of the party. To say they were a hit is an understatement. The kids LOVED these things, and here is Sota (again--I can't get enough of this kid) to prove it. I told him, "I am going to send this to my Mom, so show her you like her present!" and this was the result. If this isn't happiness, I don't know what is!
