I've found my calling...

Hello Hello! After a month away, I am finally getting around to posting on my blog. Since I have deleted four other tries today, this may be slow going, but I will try my best. I love living in Koriyama, its a nice little town in the mountains about an hour north of Tokyo. The people are very friendly and there are lots of nice things to do. Number one on that list: drinking! The amount of drinking is unbelievable, and I say that as a full-blooded Menne! I am slowly getting used to the idea of drinking for fun though....not something I normally did before! :)
My flight to Japan was pretty uneventful, and I am really glad that I got here the week that I did...I don't think I would have survived without my beloved chapstick. The flight attendent was like the most backwards, southern, uneducated women I have ever seen though. I was like, "Why did you sign up to go to Japan?" She cracked me up. She came around with the main meal and asked if I wanted chicken or beef, "Both with rice. You know how those people love rice!" Then later a guy a few rows in front of me asked if the green tea had caffeine in it. "Oh, honey, I don't know. It makes me sick just to look at it, myself. But those people sure seem to love it, don't they?" The irony of being surrounded by 'those people' on their way to a country filled with 'those people' was perhaps lost on her, but I thought it was funny.
Okay, if I can get this to work, expect more pictures soon!
